Article Finished!

Posted: February 15, 2011 in Chatter, Menswear

I had an article due today for a magazine and as of last night it had not been written. I started writing at 9pm and was up all night getting through that sucker! Phew! I do seem to get my best work done under a looming deadline, but man let’s not do that all of the time!

Don’t know if the article will make the cut. So, I’ll wait until I know it will be published before I say where you can find it. If it doesn’t make it, I’ll just publish it here. Why not, huh?

Now I need to finish this damn scarf that’s taking me forever. I can’t seem to muster the motivation to sit and crochet for long these days. Oh well…my crojo comes and goes. I’ll make the most of it when it comes.

Get Yarny! 🙂

Smile if the post title reminds you of a tagline from an old TV commercial! 🙂

Don’t I look good wearing my newly finished scarf? hehe! Points for me!!!

This is really easy to make. It’s crocheted lengthwise (from end to end) all in back loop half double crochet. Most people will think it’s knit because they aren’t used to seeing crochet that drapes so well and has this look. The scarf is also nice and stretchy!

A Tribute to Star Trek

Posted: January 7, 2011 in Critique, Menswear, Womenswear

Finally, a crocheted sweater that looks like something a guy would actually like! …even if he isn’t a Star Trek fan like I am. LOL! Patrick Hassel-Zein is the designer. He’s on Ravelry here.

I actually like the zip up on the woman’s version better for the man’s. Patrick, I forgive you! 🙂 Just a matter of personal taste.

I hope to see more crocheted sweaters like these that look like real, everyday clothes we guys would wear. Great job, Patrick!
